Then back onto the sand heading towards Arrawarra Beach, but you’ll need low tide to cross the Arrawarra River. The first stop for coffee cravings and a muffin is at Corindi Beach Rafa’s Café. Hit the sand and began your journey south with the shimmering ocean and the picturesque coastline. Heading up over the headland of rust coloured rocks and a massive rock jutting out of the ocean. The route begins at the Little Beach Lookout with views of the mouth of the estuary (Corindi River) to the left, and a sheltered cove to the right. We recommend that you get up early to take in the amazing views from the Headland before you start. Some strong stuff.Red Rock, Corindi Beach, Arrawarra Beach, Mullaway Beach I give it 5* despite the temporary paranoia the caffeine caused. Understandably that's why it was so hard to find a seat here. Got all jittery and anxious, wondering if I should worry about arrhythmia. For me, maybe I should go for a much lighter latte the next time. The other three members of our group loved it because, well, they're a bunch of techies - two Googlers and one, er, Facebookie (?) - it "wakes up and boosts" their coder mode. MAN that is some strong roast they serve. But enough talk about their atmosphere and "spirit": their coffee delivers a huge KICK, almost literal. (Now go read that in Anthony Bourdain's voice.) This place also has weekly comedy nights upstairs where they invite some notable local performers. Suddenly this old soul felt so young again. :) It gives the whole place a conceptually hipster appeal, embodying the millennial culture and spirit. Of course the moment you walk into this cafe, you're NOT surprised by the "ultimate millennial hipster techie/blogger hangout" image of the place, the decor, atmosphere, and of course the patrons - everybody has a MacBook, nobody's really talking to each other, and for some reason jazzy music is playing. Rated #1 in "coffee shops & tea bars" in Mountain View on #TripAdvisor, I was expecting some snobbishly ridiculous "designer coffee" prices, but was pleasantly surprised that it's all within some pretty normal ranges. The coffee is indeed good, and the location a great asset to Castro street, but negative for that weird judgey counter lady. Now, I've been snobbing my way through coffee for 20+ years, and I value knowledgable baristas who try to educate the regular counter guy or gal into the next level of appreciation. The 'barista' refused to give me the ice, she explained out of concern that I would mingle it with the espresso and 'not experience the drink the way it was meant to be enjoyed.' I told her specifically it was for my headache not to worry, and literally threw back the espresso in front of her in order to get the cup of ice. Once during a severe migraine, I ordered a double espresso, and also asked for a cup of ice (with the intention of putting it on the back of my neck, and then filling it with water to hydrate). My experience is the reason I go out of my way to not patronize them. This will make some will be more likely to go to support them, some less. Most people do not know that this hipster coffeehouse is an arm of a religious ministry, which is worth knowing if you care what your dollars support.
